One particularly influential experience as a young adult was with a multicultural group, Sotavento, which interpreted traditional Latin American music. With this group she learned rhythms and styles from all over Latin America, which brought her new skills and perspectives and further fueled her desire to branch out and explore the world.<\/p>\n She ended up moving to Italy, where she lived for the next 24 years, and where she continued to compose original songs and music and perform as both a solo singer-songwriter and vocalist for jazz, R&B and folk-rock formations, performing in venues of all types, from theaters in the major cities, to stages in music festivals, to little clubs along the coast.<\/p>\n
